      Large, enterprise companies such as DOW, Schneider-Electric, and Siemens rely on WatrHub to predict who their next water utility customer will be.     • What You Will Accomplish
    • Experience rapid career growth by executing WatrHub's mission through sales of its products & services and nurturing your customer relationships
    • Manage a healthy pipeline of prospects and the conversion of these opportunities into successful, long term customer relationships
    • Develop domain expertise in the water infrastructure industry and proactively evangelize and educate the water industry on the benefits of WatrHub through expert presentations and product demonstrations
    • Develop strategies and sales plans designed to achieve revenue acceleration and the profitable growth of the company
    • Harvest market feedback directly from customer relationships and market research to identify untapped value creation opportunities for WatrHub's R&D team to create a better product and making your sales conversion easier
    • You will be the key to furthering WatrHub's market penetration, and significantly improve sales productivity by working closely with the Executive Team on forecasting and strategy, continuously improving our sales model
    • Requirements
    • You have previously been successful in a high velocity sales model, closing deals with multiple stakeholders in an enterprise B2B sales environment
    • You should have 5+ years of account executive experience identifying problems and suggesting solutions, as well as building relationships over the phone and locating key decision makers quickly within prospective accounts
    • Your approach to selling is extremely disciplined. You can get anyone to a yes, but you know that’s not what it’s about. You’re not looking for the first person to say yes, you’re looking for the right person to say yes. And when you find that person, you will close the deal - no doubts
    • You have strong business acumen and are seen by your clients as a trusted advisor

      WatrHub is a big data startup that helps large scale water technology manufacturers engage in stronger relationships with the municipalities and utilities that they sell to. We do this by applying innovative data analysis and visualization techniques to terabytes of unstructured data drawn from all corners of the internet to help these manufacturers understand who needs their technology and when.

      This position centers around designing customer-facing visualizations that translate our complex raw data into simplified forms that are relevant to our customers. This is a complex design task that demands an interdisciplinary skillset. The ideal candidate, if given a set of raw water data, would be able to analyze it, design a data visualization to communicate the results of that analysis, and create that data visualization in both web and print form.

    • What You Will Accomplish

      In past workterms, students with a similar role to this one have worked on the following projects:

    • Designed and storyboarded a set of dynamic infographics and javascript-based visualizations that were a key element in our marketing strategy
    • Redesigned our online presence and content engagement strategy to cater to marketing managers and a younger generation of water industry professionals
    • Create a new Django-based template hierarchy and app workflow for our search module that showed a measured increase in user engagement and usability
    • Overhauled the usability of the reports and materials we deliver to our customer so they could be shared between key decision-makers much faster
    • Designed the next iteration of our responsive web app that enabled our clients to quickly consume and analyze water data trends and other market intelligence from a personalized and interactive dashboard made with D3.js
    • Ideal Skillset
    • Strong understanding of visual design, UX, and interaction design principles
    • Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite or their open source equivalents (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign + other programs could be an asset)
    • Expertise with HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, and Javascript libraries (D3.js, jQuery, Bootstrap, etc) as well as responsive design principles (cross-platform)
    • Experience using open source GIS tools (QGIS, PostGIS, etc) and integrating associated outputs and data with Adobe CS tools would be an asset
    • A portfolio (however small or large) of previous work (data visualizations, web design projects, app design projects, etc)

We deliver a paradigm-changing solution by delivering high value market intelligence to these companies many orders of magnitude faster than what was possible before. We do this by developing an entirely new generation of bleeding-edge software technologies to turn mountains of disparate, unstructured data into market insights, all at lightning speed and with human-level accuracy.

We are now looking for ambitious, energetic, and talented software engineers to help us scale up our analytics platform as we as we embark on a phase of steep business growth. The position will be based out of our Toronto office.

    • Our Tech Stack
    • Python including NLTK and scikit-learn, Nutch, Django, MongoDB, Hadoop, MapReduce, Node.js, Elasticsearch and Bootstrap 3. We also use Tessaract, Selenium, Sphinx, Flask and Git. We move quickly and deploy to AWS EC2 multiple times a day.
    • What You Will Accomplish
    • Create the roadmap for WatrHub's Data Architecture to allow rapid expansion of our datasets
    • Deliver scaling solutions by optimizing all stages of our data pipeline: large scale distributed data acquisition, data cleaning and normalization, storage, information extraction, RESTful APIs, authentication, and data visualization
    • Apply the next generation of our Natural Language Processing algorithms to our web crawlers and data quality validation platform to improve performance and accuracy
    • Design and develop solutions to seamlessly integrate layers of big data from thousands of disparate unstructured data sources into our data pipeline, while maintaining a fast customer experience
    • Create and iterate on the ideal schema and infrastructure to support our data roadmap
    • Analyze development practices and take the lead in recommending and implementing improvements
    • Requirements
    • Working knowledge of and familiarity with various statistical machine learning models (SVM, Neural Networks, Bayesian, etc) and Natural Language Processing are essential
    • Strong skills in Python, Apache, Elasticsearch/Solr, Nutch, MongoDB, Hadoop, MapReduce, and Django
    • Previous Experience in a Data Architecture role is required. You must have demonstrated ability to manage and optimize complicated data infrastructure
    • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field (Though, university dropouts with exceptional programming skills are welcome to apply!)
    • Experience working with large structured and unstructured data sets from multiple sources is a plus
